ABOUT CRATE.IO is the developer of CrateDB, a global leading-edge IoT database, extending the limits of time-series applications. The highly scalable distributed database solution combines the performance of NoSQL with the power and simplicity of standard SQL. Designed specifically to support machine data applications and IIoT, CrateDB is optimized for time series and industrial data and runs in the cloud on Azure and Amazon as well as on the edge and on-premise.

We are gearing up for hyper-growth with offices in the USA, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

We are looking for an intern (m/f/x) who shares our passion for ground-breaking technology. You will gain relevant working experience in the area of Customer Engineering by supporting internal and external customer needs. Our goal is both to support your growth and development, empowering you for a successful start to your career. The role reports to the Head of Customer Engineering and is located in Vienna, Austria.

      • Support our Customer Engineering team in all regards
      • Help successfully deliver proof of concepts and pilot projects for customers
      • Develop small applications integrating CrateDB
      • Help evaluate different database focused tools
      • Assist in the preparation of customer presentations and internal documentations


      • Pursuing Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related disciplines
      • Basic understanding of databases (SQL / NoSQL)
      • Initial experience with programming language (Python, Java, Node.js or similar)
      • Cross-team collaboration skills
      • Structured and systematic way of working
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German
